Parent Involvement

Parent Involvement Opportunities

Big City Montessori School offers numerous opportunities for parent involvement. Each of these parent clubs has been started and maintained by parents. Parents find that participating at BCMS enriches their relationships with fellow parents, their children’s classmates, and the school staff. Most clubs provide opportunities for children and parents to socialize together and engage in growth promoting activities for the whole family. Ask the Director for more information about the clubs and how to join.

Also on our Facebook page, we have a blog called “Ask Amanda”! Every Friday, our Director, Amanda Riccetti posts a “Q & A” on a specific topic related to the Montessori Method, education, or parenting. She also answers any parents’ specific posted questions. Big City Parents Organization (BCPO) Annual Scholarship Gala Event

The BCPO plans the fabulous end of year party for the BCMS parents. The event features gourmet food and wine, live entertainment, a silent and live auction, and is the single, annual opportunity for parents to socialize on their own. Funds from this adult-only event are used for scholarships to provide tuition for five children to attend BCMS. Parents in the group meet once per month leading up to the annual Scholarship Gala in the Spring. Childcare and pizza is provided by the school at the meetings.
